MEDIATION SERVICES

When two or more parties have a dispute and are unable to resolve it on their own, going to court is not always the only (or the best) option. Mediation fosters cooperation and encourages better communication between parties, which can be important as they often must (or would like to) maintain ongoing relationships even after a dispute has been resolved.

Mediation offers several advantages to disputing parties that are not always available in court.

  • Mediation is regularly more affordable than litigation, as expenses for the process can be shared.

  • Mediation is more time-efficient, since participants are not bound by the court’s availability.

  • Mediation offers privacy/confidentiality not always available in litigation due to the public nature of court records.

Mediated agreements can be more personalized since the parties themselves - rather than a judge who may not have time to fully grasp the nuances of the problem and the parties - are in direct control of the outcome.

In addition to being a licensed attorney, Simon Hotz is trained to mediate all types of disputes, including but not limited to those involving family law issues.
